It's made up of several elements and takes a lot of work and energy. Do you have what it takes to be an active listener? Test it out by *actively listening* to the latest episode of Comm Therapy! Denotation & Connotation: You're so HOT

Denotation & Connotation: You're so HOT

Words mean what we want them to mean. When you call someone "hot" are you really referring to the literal definition of the word hot? Do you really mean that s/he is running a fever, that his or her skin is hot to the touch? Probably not...you probably mean s/he is attractive, sexy, and good-looking. What about swear words? Do we give those words their meaning? Are they "bad" because we make them bad...or are they just naturally bad? Listen, and tell us what YOU think!

I look forward to hearing your next podcast to see how it goes. I think that people can become better communicators as they learn about different aspects of communication. Great first podcast.

Average but enough to make one think a bit

I've listened to five of these podcasts. I believe there are good points made and leaves me thinking on the subject at a deeper level. However, there were a couple irritating habits that turned me off. This is supposed to be about all things commutative yet one of the hosts constantly interrupts the other with "yeah" while the other is speaking. This is very disruptive and makes it difficult to concentrate. Also, I got the impression that the two hosts wanted to create a debatable environment but yet rarely do I find them challenging the other's view. I think if the interruptions stopped and they didn't seem afraid to step on the other's toes so much, the podcast would be on the top of my list as they discuss thought provoking subjects.
