Kenny and 2018 Division 2A State Championship Head Coach Travis Clark sat down on Monday, August 7th on the first day of two-a-day practices on their new field. Coach Clark touched on a plethora of topics like how he is dealing with getting transferred to teach at Leuzinger high while still coaching at Lawndale High, the level of support he’s gotten from the Centinela Valley High School District & the surrounding community. He also spoke to the difficulties of scheduling pre & post Covid-shortened seasons, whether or not he feels appreciated by the community & the district for all he’s done for the program. Clark even gives insight on what he thinks could be the future of high school football will look like due to the transfer portal, the mess that is high school transfers, college football realignment & more. The goal of this interview was to have conversations with people in the community that are impacting the youth & doing the work in quiet & producing results out loud.
