Welcome to "comPOSERS The Movie Score Podcast", where three old musician friends of dubious talent enjoy some movie-themed drinks while discussing film scores and the films they're in. Our goal is to find the perfect movie score, and our journey takes us some really weird places.
Join us on this bizarre musical trek to...somewhere? Follow us on the socials (Twitter and Instagram, currently) @composerspod, then sit back, pour yourself an adult beverage and enjoy some comPOSING.
NEW EPISODES EVERY SUNDAY!
BATMAN FOREVER - Series 8: Episode 121
This week, the boys take a spin in a neon Batmobile in the oft-maligned third installment of the 90s franchise — yes, it's the one with the nipples on the suits. Join us as we discuss Elliot Goldenthal's incredible compositional contribution to the Batverse in Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever.
OPEN WATER - Series 8: Episode 120
There's nothing quite like choosing a new composer (hooray) and then choosing the worst possible film to highlight their talents (boo). Join us as the boys never venture into the ocean again after watching Open Water — totally in honour of Shark Week, starting today! — while enjoying Graeme Revell's nine-minute score just enough to give him another shot.
INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE - Series 8: Episode 119
Happy 4th of July to our American friends! This is the movie we all deserve this year. Join us as we lament how great David Arnold's score was compared to the steaming pile we get from Thomas Wander (nee Wanker) and Harald Kloser!
ROCKETMAN - Series 8: Episode 118
This week, we follow Taron Egerton down a magical reality rabbit hole to a world where everyone is apparently an expert dancer and knows perfectly-choreographed dance numbers, and the boys struggle to separate Sir Elton's timeless tracks from Matthew Margeson's alleged score. Pack your bags pre-flight, listeners, because this is Rocketman!
FORD V. FERRARI - Series 8: Episode 117
Happy Father's Day! This week the boys are celebrating with what critics disparagingly called a "dad movie": the actually-rather-brilliant Ford v. Ferrari, with the actually-rather-brilliant score by Marco Beltrami and Buck Sanders.
Note: This episode was just rife with technical issues for Alex, which are even more noticeable after last week's Patreon in-person recording, but since there are periods of time you don't hear him at all, we figured it'd be a selling point for at least some of you.
SUSPIRIA - Series 8: Episode 116
It's Halloween in June! This week, the boys welcome back friend of the show and horror film lexicon Andy Sell of the Ghoul School Podcast to talk about one of the most unique scores we've ever encountered. Join us as we talk at length about Dario Argento's legendary "Suspiria" and the unsettling masterpiece that is the score by Italian prog-rockers Goblin.
And don't forget to check out Andy's new horror gossip podcast, Look Good for the Boys, available right damn here!

Please listen to this podcast, it’s absolutely fantastic. They might not be the definitive voice on what a good movie score is, they might not even be a good voice, but over the past few months working as a delivery driver during a pandemic they’ve accompanied me on every trip, every day and given me great laughs. Though at times they edge on the offensive, it seems their true hearts always shine through in the end. 5 stars for a good casual companion-like podcast ❤️👍🏾
I’ve never left a bad review for a podcast but I was so excited to listen to this podcast because I love discussing film scores but I’ve listened to a few episodes and all they do is complain. I got thirty minutes into the Thor Ragnarok episode and had to shut it off cause I just couldn’t take it anymore. All they did was bash on the movie and wouldn’t even hear the guy out who was trying to explain it. I was half way through the episode and the podcast about movie score had yet to even bring up the score. I’m so disappointed in this.
First, I fall into the old school category. Have been collecting soundtracks for 40+ years now. I don’t think I’ve agreed with any one of your ratings but I love the podcast. You all are 100% real and that is what makes the podcast worth listening too. Keep them coming!
