Craig Eckert and the Colorado Trail The Rift - Enlightenment Within The Divide

    • Society & Culture

Hey Friends, Welcome to The Rift - Enlightenment Within the Divide.  I’m your host, Sam Denning, and today's conversation is with Craig Eckert.  In this conversation Craig discusses his trek on the Colorado Trail and how it compared to other long distance backpacking trips he has gone on including The Appalachian Trail and The Long Trail.
Craig is a retired geoscience advisor living near Pittsburgh, PA. Throughout his 38-year career as a geologist, he worked for numerous companies in the exploration and production sector of the petroleum industry, while living in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Texas. During that time his passion was exploring the earth in the search for hydrocarbons. Today he is equally passionate about exploring the world on foot via long distance backpacking adventures. He is also an avid canoeist, golfer and skier, forever fascinated by the rocks beneath his feet.

I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you purchased a copy of his book.  This was an awesome conversation from start to finish!  Please enjoy and give any feedback you want either on this website or over my email.
This podcast is aimed at having conversations with people from across all aspects of life during these crazy times we are living in.  While the conversations are going to be focused around people's unique jobs, hobbies, leisure activities and personal experiences it is hard to imagine that the topic of the current pandemic will not be mentioned.  If you are interested in being part of the conversation feel free to email me, Sam Denning, at soyoholdings@gmail.com.
