We Went Back to Ohio with Robert Kurtzman - Episode 50 - 9/23/16

On this episode of CreatureGeek (due to a misnumbering error is actually our 50th show!) we talk to legendary SFX makeup artist, Robert Kurtzman. Robert is the original K of KNB EFX, one of its original founders, and is now running his own company in his home state of Ohio - Robert Kurtzman's Creature Corps. If you're in the Ohio area, his newest project - Paranormal Penitentiary - is opening THIS WEEKEND at the site of the Mansfield Reformatory. He talks moving from LA to Ohio, working in this environment and of course, classic horror hosts. Not alone!

This is more than just a behind the screen look at movies. Frank also discusses the growth of his business and employee relations. Wow, so helpful! I work in a different industry but also employee artists ( and maybe still consider myself one). It’s so great to hear that I am not alone and that there are others out there struggling with similar issues and succeeding

Great Material!

As the Owner and Artist at Khabs Am Pekht Kreations (unapologetic plug for myself😅: @khabsampekhtart on IG & FB), this podcast has helped me grow tremendously.

Starting a business without prior experience is legit like fumbling around in the dark and hoping you don’t bump into anything sharp unprepared. But listening to Frank and the myriad of insightful guests that he and Len bring onto the show has helped enlighten a lot of the sharp things you run into, and has made me think about things I wouldn’t have thought about, even despite being enrolled in as a business major in college to help with my art gig.

Awesome podcast. Thanks for making it happen Frank and Len. Will be putting into the tip jar as soon as my income is sufficient haha!

Great film industry podcast

This podcast is not just for special makeup effects or monsters. This podcast discusses the ins and outs of running a business, dealing with practical effects and other industry professionals.

The interviews and history from the artists on the shows is fantastic. Can't wait for the next episode. I currently have this podcast on repeat during my daily drive
