    Wondering what a dump skunk is?  Find out which podcast host is given this moniker by our guest Hannah Darling.  In this episode, Hannah discusses her warp-speed rise through the various levels of Rugby from High School all the way to the Rio Olympics.  Hannah also shares with us some of her challenges with mental health as well as what it takes to compete at such a high level, so far from home.  Hannah also answers questions from local rugby player Brynn Jenkins.  As always, find out during our 15 hands of a mustang segment to see if Hannah attains our Mustang status.

    Rebecca Bartosh

    Rebecca Bartosh

    Soccer star, Hiawatha First Nation resident, and Thomas A Stewart graduate Rebecca Bartosh is our guest on episode seven. Rebecca, or Becca as her friends call her, relives her glory days a child soccer star in Virginia before moving to Hiawatha First Nation in 2016. Upon arriving to the area, she immediately makes an impact in the soccer community at TAS and the GTA as a member of the Division One Women's League team Toronto Blizzard. Rebecca also details her experience as a two-time participant of the North American Indigenous Games, as well as what can be done to provide more opportunity and exposure to Indigenous athletes. Producer Peers is allowed back to ask questions and allows us to gain some insight into the strong family influences and support that have allowed Rebecca to achieve so much. Rebecca outlines her future plans for soccer and eventually a career in law enforcement when her playing days are over, but is she able to recall the role she played as a member of her high school mock trial team? You'll have to listen to the 15 Hands segment to find out.

    John Tavares - Part 2

    Can Maple Leafs Captain John Tavares ride a bicycle? John joins us for part two of his podcast. In this episode John talks about taking a negative and turning it into a positive when he was cut from the National Junior team in 2007. John also talks about his multi-sport days, playing Jr. A Lacrosse while also being a member of the Oshawa Generals. Finally, John takes part in our 15 Hands of a Mustang Trivia challenge. Producer Peers left no stone unturned to get some little known information about John for the segment.

    Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares joins the podcast and it turns out that he is an even better person than he is a hockey player!! John was more than gracious with his time, and as a result this is part one of two. Crestwood Edge students Malena and Ryan join us and ask John some tough questions. We gain some insight into how John became the first player granted exceptional player status by the Ontario Hockey League, and what it was like to be named captain of the most recognized and popular hockey team in Canada, the Toronto Maple Leafs. John gets placed on the hot seat when Producer Peers questions him about who is the better brother-in-law, Owen or Tanner.

    If the game of golf has ever gotten the better of you, then you are going to love this episode. Former Crestwood Mustang Sam Meek joins the podcast to discuss the the trials and tribulations of an elite golfer. Currently playing in his senior year at Nevada State, Sam outlines the process of selecting golf as his sport of choice as he began high school, and the journey from Peterborough to multiple NCAA tournament winner. Producer Peers grills Sam about the mental and mechanical aspects of some of his most important and memorable rounds. Crestwood Edge student Alex Lafleche joins the podcast in our first student question segment to get some pointers and tips from Sam as an aspiring golfer.

    Erica Evans

    Lacrosse superstar and Peterborough native Erica Evans joins the podcast to discuss her rise from the west end of town to her victory as a NCAA Champion at the University of Maryland and everything in between. Erica details lessons learned from her time with the Canadian National team as well as her determination to overcome a serious injury while playing at Canisius College. The conversation leads to a discussion on the position of women's pro sports, and what can be done to increase the exposure of these leagues and the impact that seeing women succeed in these areas can have on an individual. Erica also tries puts her self knowledge to the test in our "15 Hands of a Mustang" trivia segment.
