Episode 2: Our Bigfoot experience with Dr. Jeff Meldrum & Cliff Barackman

Episode 2: Our Bigfoot experience with Dr. Jeff Meldrum & Cliff Barackman

On Episode 2 of Destination Sasquatch, Reggie and Paul recount an encounter with Bigfoot while Squatching with Dr Jeff Meldrum and Cliff Barackman in the Blu Mountains above Walla Walla, WA.
Reggie and Paul have been fortunate to befriend amazing researchers within the Bigfoot community. On this occasion, while Squatching with two legends of the industry, the four shared an experience like no other.
It was the summer of 2017. The four met at an undisclosed location, deep in the mountains above Walla Walla. On the very first night of their joint expedition, the four researchers were all congregated around camp discussing recent Sasquatch research findings. Sometime during the evening, the four were treated to a crisp tree knock off in the distance. Cliff decided to setup his audio recording equipment in case we got another knock. Indeed the four did get another knock; two as a matter of fact!
As the four decided to retire for the night, Cliff began setting up electronic video recording equipment. Just as he knelt to setup a camera, all Hell broke loose! Although captured from a distance of approximately 200 yards, the event was captured on Cliff’s audio recorder. Hear it here for the first time!
What clearly sounds like wood being busted, slammed and thrown in a violent manner happened merely feet from where cliff had knelt. Startled, Cliff hurried toward the other three researchers. This was perhaps the scariest moment of Paul and Reggie’s tenure as Sasquatch researchers.
We believe that the audio captured a warning signal from a Sasquatch for Cliff not to come any closer. We firmly believe that Cliff was unknowingly feet from a Sasquatch. During the event, a Woooo sound can be heard approximately 5 seconds into the recording. We believe that this sound was another Sasquatch, telling the disgruntled Sasquatch to calm down. Smaller limbs from yet a third location can also be heard cracking prior to the tantrum caught on audio. We believe there were three or more Sasquatch present that night.
During the eventful night, whistles and light tree knocks within close proximity of the researchers were heard by Cliff, Reggie and Paul independently and in separate areas.

    Our Introduction and Bigfoot Background

    Our Introduction and Bigfoot Background

On the inaugural episode of Destination Sasquatch, we introduce ourselves to the audience.
Viewers are introduced to Paul Bowen and learn where he got Paul got his passion for Bigfoot. Paul was hooked on the idea of Sasquatch at a young age while camping and hiking in the Okanogan region of Washington State. Later Paul found a fresh trackway (fresh Bigfoot tracks) in the Chewelah Washington area. This area is only a stone’s throw away from Bossburg, Washington.
Bossburg is classified as a ghost town now but in 1969 the town of Bossburg grew to popularity within the Bigfoot community because of the discovery of the famous “Cripple Foot” tracks which were discovered by Joe Rhodes, a local Butcher in Colville, WA. Rene Dahinden documented and cast the tracks in 1969, just two years after the famous Patterson Gimlin footage of “Patty” which was filmed in Bluff Creek, CA.
Audience members are also introduced to Reggie Byrd. As a youngster, Reggie was a fan of The Loch Ness Monster. Reggie grew up on the East coast of the US in the Carolinas. When Reggie moved West to Washington state, he became intrigued by the lore of Bigfoot in the Blue Mountains. Reggie quickly became involved in the Bigfoot community and befriended James “Bobo” Fay and Cliff Barackman, both of whom grew to notoriety with their long running show “Finding Bigfoot” on the Animal Planet network.
Please join us through this journey, as we explore all topics related to Bigfoot. Follow the guys as they research bigfoot in the Blue Mountains of Washington and Oregon. Stay tuned for upcoming films where the guys try to convince guests of the existence of Bigfoot. Guests get the opportunity to judge for themselves if they believe or whether they end up believing that Bigfoot does not exist. The two will also be doing product reviews including thermal imaging equipment such as Flir and Armasight products. Night vision equipment, survival gear, camping gear, optics and even hiking equipment will be reviewed as we aim to help others get started in their own search for Sasquatch.

Sarcastic to the point of being defensive

Listened to podcast but couldn’t get past how snarky the hosts can be when talking about people who don’t believe. The hosts talk about being open minded yet they are not open to people questioning the existence of sasquatch. They mention Todd Standing in Ep3 and that they don’t know him or that they can’t vouch for his credibility yet they go on to use his videos as examples of proof. Hmmm. That’s having your cake and eating it too. A person’s credibility speaks to the authenticity of their proof. In other episodes, they get defensive with people who criticize blurry photos, the Freeman footage, etc. They tend to come off as sarcastic to the point of being really defensive.

Thanks, but hard pass.
