Episode #20:  Sherry Martin has made her mark in the financial service industry in less than 4 years.  She is such a positive, influential leader and accomplishes that with amazing grace.  Sherry is direct and to the point but has an incredible amount of compassion and empathy that her clients and co-workers are fortunate to receive.  This interview is full of tangible take-aways to implement immediately in your business such as the benefits of being "The Bag Lady" and the "fortune is in the follow up".  You will love hearing her journey!

Bio:
I am from Southern California, Attended Cypress College and while attending college I started to work in an Orthopedic Surgery office. I learned quickly that I truly enjoyed caring for and serving others. I spent 15 years working for an Orthopedic Surgery Group in Fullerton CA. During that time I was married and I had 3 beautiful children Justin, Samantha and Travis.

In 2001 I moved to Austin TX. I started working for Westlake Orthopedics as the practice administrator. I was divorced and remarried my soulmate Grady West. Along with Grady came 3 bonus children. After 30 years in Orthopedic Surgery and seeing all the changes in the medical field I decided it was time to hang up my hat as the work continued to pile on and the salary was not matching the workload.

At 53 years old I decided to make a career change. I went back to school to become a Certified Nutrition Coach. While I was enjoying what I was doing coaching others to better health, my cup was not full. It was at that time in Sept. 2016 I was introduced to Appreciation Financial. I was told I would be caring for and serving others in a different way while making as much income as I desired. It was not love at first sight however; a month in.. something clicked and I fell in love with what I was doing. Being able to know I am helping public employees prepare for a beautiful retirement and protect their families is an amazing feeling. After a couple years I decided to not be a "secret agent" and started sharing the opportunity with others and have built a team of amazing agents to help serve our public employees. My husband decided 2 years ago after retiring as a Chemical Engineer to join the team as well.

In my spare time I enjoy playing with our 7 grandchildren, walking our dogs, hiking and because of Appreciation Financial we were able to purchase our dream beach house in Florida which we love to spend our time. Our company is able to work virtual so I am able to watch the sunset over the Gulf of Florida while serving my clients in Texas. I am forever grateful that I found Appreciation Financial and knowing the sky is the limit on my financial future.
