Excellent content, terrible audio quality
As an audio engineer, my only complaint with these podcasts are the absolutely unacceptable AM radio quality they are being encoded in. The shows are interesting, have good production and nice variety of topics. However they have one thing in common. They all sound like they were recorded off a very cheap AM radio and then encoded in 32 or 64kbps before being uploaded. This was fine 15 years ago when MP3 technology was new and bandwidth was precious. But in today's high tech world, it doesn't make sense. Perhaps there is a reason for the low quality and if so my suggestion is 2 versions of these shows, high and low quality. The high quality should be a minimum of 128kbps and even that is probably too low. I listen using headphones and these podcasts give me a headache from the extremely low quality, midrange heavy audio.
I feel bad leaving these negative comments because the content really is good. If the quality improves I will definitely revise my review. I want to tell people about these shows but I just can't do it if the quality is going to be so poor.
Thanks and if the podcast creator is reading this, I wish you the best for the future!
