Welcome to the weekly podcast of Dream Church led by Joshua Brown. For more info, visit www.dreamcolumbia.com.
Christ did not come to affect the age of sin and law; He came to complete it and inaugurate a new (original) age absent of sin and law. This means we can lay down our fighting against the darkness (darkness is defeated) and begin to announce the kingdom reign of God is here.
The Holy Spirit as a Pastor
Most of us have seen the third member of the Trinity as lesser-than and a fog that stays in the distance until the occasions are right. However, nothing could be further from the truth. The Spirit is not weird or "other-than." The Holy Spirit is a shepherd that leads us to green pastures.
Shavuot and Pentecost
The Jewish festival of Shavuot was a celebration of harvest and the giving of the Torah. Pentecost, in Acts 2, is the fulfillment of what Shavuot represents. The connections of the two are crucial in understanding what was really going on in that upperroom.
Exact Representation of God
The sermon to the Hebrews is from a Pastor who is writing to a primarily Jewish audience wanting to go back to Judaism. In the message, Joshua Brown teaches on Hebrews 1 and 2 and how we should respond to the exact representation of God, seen in Jesus the Son.
It is true that all things came into being in, through, and for the Son. However, if all things exist in the Son, where were all things when the Son became flesh? He entered into the very Creation that existed in Him yet because that Creation existed in Him, everything He did He not only did as Jesus, but also as all things.
Human and Beast
Mankind was created in the image of God. Genesis 3 tells the story of mankind (Adam and Eve) choosing to follow the distortion of the beast and end up in a mindset of production. You are enough exactly as Yahweh has created you to be.
Fanning the Flames
Pastor Josh combines the prophetic with the practical so his messages are heart stirring and helpful. I look forward to a new message every Monday afternoon and in between, I go back to ones previously posted. Keep the fire burning!
