Dreaming of Bali Candy Tolentino

Tammy Martinez is a wellness entrepreneur that has devoted her life to helping others heal. Her spiritual awakening came at the heels of losing her mother to cancer and then losing her father shortly after suddenly to heart failure.  Through grief and these major life changing events, Tammy began to evolve as she became aware that life was meant to live with meaning and purpose and that healing herself was an integral part of becoming who she was meant to be.



Through her own personal journey, she explored many healing practices and modalities to learn and grow.  Most importantly, in 2019, she took a trip to Bali where she connected with the people, land, and the spiritual essence of the culture.  It was on that trip that the vision came to her that Bali was the place for her to open a retreat center and that it would be her destiny to move there.  In 2021, that vision was brought to life when an opportunity to invest in a retreat center in Ubud was brought into her field and her and her business partner Paula Burchett jumped at the chance.  



Tammy is a certified Alchemy of Breath Breathwork Facilitator, she has taken INELDA’s Death Doula course, studied Akashic Records, and is also was certified in Yoga.  She focuses her energy on offering breathwork, building community and creating connection, and growing The Ark Ubud Bali, which she is Co-Owner of.  The Ark offers healing and transformative retreats, events and experiences for guests from all over the globe.

Noting that is what addiction is after all, the dark side of a beautiful place.  A decorated veteran of the United States Army, she is used to facing challenges and being resourceful, both helpful tools for Solo traveling through the world.  Androgynous by presentaion, she loves to share how her journey of “other” has led her to some of the sweetest human acceptance one can witness.  With her upcoming essays, Passport to Sobriety and Keep Walking, she is marrying travel and transformation, and changing the narrative on addiction and mental health, teaching people to set boundaries and kick down borders.
