Humera is a freelance consultant and researcher on Muslim Affairs. She is one of the founder members and currently a
trustee of the An-Nisa Society founded in 1985. With the organisation, she has been involved in setting up many projects and working with families, providing
support and counseling on a broad range of issues.

Humera is currently the coordinator for An-Nisa Society’s Supplementary School which was set up in 1986 and through the school has developed work around Islamic education and facilitated numerous youth projects. These projects have included film projects, play schemes, and various art-based projects.

As a freelance consultant, Humera has written articles for various publications including Q-News, Guardian and the
Independent. She has also had various media and public appearances speaking on
a wide range of issues from multiculturalism, Islamophobia, and racism to social issues such as sexual abuse, and generation conflicts.
