Lo's Motown Grammy performance in relation to theories of cultural appropriation, Arianna Grande's performance of race in relation to the notion of black fishing, and also use our critical race theory skills to unpack notions of Whiteness, how essentialism complicates these critiques, and also how it all connects to capitalism. We draw on and amplify Black writers/theorists and as always understand if you want to hear this analysis from POC instead of us! We also spend some time on the recent Ryan Adams expose, and the backlash against Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
