Ep.12 - James Russell The Laugh Factory Nerd World Podcast

    • Comedy Interviews

This week’s guest is James Russel the gifted political/social satirists who’s sketch video are gaining popularity and praise across the internet. It was James’ Instagram bio that caused me to reach out to him– The first word: #bipolar. I just knew I had to talk to this comedian who is claiming their mental disorder and using their platform to normalize their condition, educate others and make other folks living with Bipolar feel less alone.  The awareness, grace and candor with which James speaks of his challenges and his vulnerability – talking through being 5150’d just a few years ago, being cyberbullied as a teen and how comedy has helped him through all of these dark moments is inspiring and so important for people to hear. So although we opted not to go a laugh a second with our chat I am so grateful that James came and shared so much of him with us. I should accordingly warn you up front that this episode touches on sensitive triggering issues such a cutting, eating disorders and psychiatric breaks please turn us off if now is not a good time to be listening to this and please reach out to someone for support or to me georgia@laughfactory.com if you need help – we are here for you and you are not alone.
