Ep. 28. "Making the Tough Calls: When and How to Enforce Boundaries with Clients‪"‬ Pilates Unfiltered

    • Society & Culture

Welcome to another episode of JZ Unfiltered, where we support wellness professionals in taking care of themselves both in their personal and professional lives. In this episode, we're discussing setting and maintaining boundaries. As a wellness professional, you know how important it is to take care of yourself if you want to take care of others. And yet, it can be challenging to say no or set firm boundaries when clients or colleagues ask for more than you're willing or able to give.
Jenna shares a personal story of feeling challenged in maintaining boundaries when a client asked her to babysit. She realized that this person wasn't taking her profession seriously and was taking advantage of her kind nature. It's important to recognize when clients are crossing boundaries and to be firm in saying no to requests that don't fit within your scope of work.
Mental and physical exhaustion are signs that you're reaching your limits and need to take a step back. Whether it's taking a break, asking for help, or setting boundaries, it's important to put your well-being first. Jena suggests reflecting on where and why you may compromise your boundaries, despite knowing that you cannot do everything. Is it pressure to please others or fear of losing clients? It's crucial to understand why you may be feeling this way so you can take steps to address those feelings and set clear boundaries moving forward.
