Our episodes on the topic of the the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan between the years 1979-1989 were recorded roughly six weeks before the February 24th Russian invasion of Ukraine. Our hearts go out to the people of Ukraine.
Furthermore, our hearts go out to the citizens of Russia who actively oppose this invasion and have been arrested and fined for their protests. We are with you all in spirit humans and pray for a swift end to the heartbreak, devastation, and confusion inevitably created by war. We stand with Ukraine and call out for peace.
The 1988 movie Rambo III was a fun movie for our team to poke some fun at considering the many issues with the movie. It was a typical 80's action movie loaded with confusing masculine tropes and a subtle commentary on what it means to be a soldier. Rambo didn't have many speaking parts in this film, but he was definitely an expert at blowing things up. Join us as we head back into the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan that took place between 1979 - 1989.
