Ep. 53: Seeing the Silver Lining in Surviving Domestic & Family Court Abuse: A conversation with September Burton This Is My Truth

    • Self-Improvement

In today's conversation I talk with September Burton who shares her story of survival of both domestic abuse but also family court system abuse. We speak about her journey, how she's had to make a decision that no mother should ever have to make and ultimately how using our voice can empower others to stand together, and most importantly, to heal.

A bit more about September:

Champion for Women Survivors of Domestic Violence  Fertility expert and abuse survivor, September Burton is a Champion for Women Survivors of Domestic Violence. After years of emotional, verbal, physical abuse and abuse of power - a common thread in the women she meets’ abuse stories – she has finally managed to break free.  September started her career as a U.S. Navy personal chef to 4-star Admirals, stationed in Sicily, Italy. She has since shared her expertise and passion for nutrition as a recurring guest on KCMJ 93.9 radio show, ‘Happy News Now’ and developed a 6-week ‘Eating for Fertility’ nutrition plan for prospective parents.  She is the Founder and CEO of “4-months-to-Fertile”, working with couples and mothers struggling with primary or secondary infertility and is the organizer of the first ever Colorado Fertility Conference.   September is passionate about living a life of purpose, sharing her knowledge on the healing power of food, and freeing women from the debilitating shame and guilt that often accompanies domestic violence.   "There is a magic that happens when women heal together. For every woman who speaks she empowers thousands of other women. Stand with me. Speak with me. Heal with me."
