This is My Truth is a platform for honest, open conversations. The stories shared are not often spoken about or discussed, but once told, have the ability to shine a light on another perspective, or a much needed conversation. These stories may make us laugh, some may make us cry, but together, we will learn from one another and begin to heal. Because walls need to be torn down, masks need to come off, stories need to be heard in order for our truths to be told. This is my Truth. Will you tell me yours?

Ep. 173: Making Hard Things Easy to Talk About: A conversation with Raquel Kelley

Ep. 173: Making Hard Things Easy to Talk About: A conversation with Raquel Kelley

Today I chat with my new friend Raquel Kelley. We get real & honest about so many things - the identity of motherhood, taking the leap from corporate, postpartum depression - and we are vulnerable, real and still manage to have fun while doing so.

A bit more about Raquel in her own words:

Raquel Kelley is a mother, writer, TV producer, and host of the MOMGUL Podcast. She began her career at E! Entertainment where she worked for over a decade producing shows such as Live! From the Red Carpet and Fashion Police. She’s also been a featured contributor for Condé Nast and The HuffPost.

After having two kids under two, Raquel relocated her family to her native Ohio. While her life may have changed, her career goal remains the same– make hard things easy to talk about.

Her first book, Where’d I Go?, flips the lift-the-flap board book on its head– written not for babies, but for moms. Comical and authentic, this little board book delivers a big message: mothers are women, too.

Ep. 171: Redefining Work Hard, Play Hard for Herself: A conversation with Lindsey Kaszuba

Ep. 171: Redefining Work Hard, Play Hard for Herself: A conversation with Lindsey Kaszuba

Today I dive into a fun yet meaningful conversation with Lindsey Kaszuba. Like me, Lindsey said f'it to her corporate job and took the leap to begin her own business. To do so, she had to come back home to herself and realign her ideas around success and working hard and playing hard. We also dive into perfectionism and how that relates to eating habits, specifically orthorexia.

More about Lindsey in her own words:

Lindsey Kaszuba helps women make small changes that create a big impact on overall health. She is a certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach, entrepreneur, wife, mother, and founder of Lindsey Kaszuba Health. Lindsey’s mission is to teach and empower women that health and lifestyle can work together; she works one-one-one with her clients to create a plan to serve both.

Ep. 170: The Crushing Weight of Expectations

Ep. 170: The Crushing Weight of Expectations

    Can women have it all?

I dive into this controversial question on today's podcast, in addition to talking about how we got here - expectations vs. reality. And how when we're not pausing to ask ourselves, how are we defining 'all' for ourselves, we are going to get crushed by expectations.

I hope you enjoy today's conversation!

    xoxo, Jessi

Very raw and real show!

With all that’s going on in the world right now, it’s important that people like Jessi provide safe spaces for mothers to share and listen to such vulnerable conversations!
