In our second segment, we discuss informed speculation about who will be available when the Habs pick at the National Hockey League entry draft. In our final segment, we drink our annual Toronto Maple Leafs haterade after yet another early playoff exit.

The NHL Draft Lottery has taken place and the Montreal Canadiens will be picking fifth overall. In our first segment, we discuss our dream scenario in which the Habs pick Ivan Demidov. The Locked On Canadiens Book Club is back, with special guest Sam Jefferies, author of Legacy on Ice: Blake Geoffrion and the Fastest Game on Earth. Jefferies talks about the process of writing the story of former Montreal Canadien Blake Geoffrion, the fourth generation hockey player from a legendary family with roots in the Montreal Canadiens history. Geoffrion suffered a career-ending injury while playing with the Hamilton Bulldogs at the Bell Centre during the 2012 NHL lockout.

Sam Jefferies will be signing copies of the book at the Indigo bookstore in Downtown Montréal on Thursday, May 9th, from 5-8pm.

The Montreal Canadiens are in somewhat of a crossroads in their rebuild, and now is the time for them to make decisions that will impact them both in the long term and short term.
