Episode 106 “(belated) Félix Navidad‪”‬ That Chelsea Podcast

    • Soccer

Nick & is joined by Tom Coley (@tomcoley49) from football.london (@Football_LDN) & Travis Flock (@Crossroads_CFC) to look back at another busy week at Chelsea.

Firstly we discuss the arrival of João Félix, what our initial reaction was and now how we’re feeling about it after his debut at Fulham.

He was the only real bright spot in a disappointing 2-1 defeat at Fulham which is what we reflect upon next with a shambolic defensive display on show and we rue the injury to Denis Zakaria.

Next up the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk is on the agenda with the blues beating Arsenal to his signature.

We then move onto discuss Chelsea’s 11th consecutive premier league victory over Crystal Palace and 12th in all comps. We praise the debut of Benoît Badiashile who looked very assured out there. We heap praise on a more mature Conor Gallagher performance in the centre of the park. Kepa made some crucial saves days after his clanger at Fulham proved costly in defeat as we talk the good and the bad of Kepa and if keeper is a position that needs urgent addressing. Kai Havertz scored the winning goal and we ask if he’s playing for his future given the recent attacking arrivals. Lewis Hall’s recent performances are talked about before praise is added to Jorginho and Hakim Ziyech for their roles in the much needed win.

Finally we answer listener questions on:
-Role of Mudryk
-Whether Mudryk should start at Liverpool
-What did we notice between the two games
