    • Relationships

How do you ever recover from your partner betraying you? This episode will cover the process!

Gilza Fort-Martinez is a bilingual licensed marriage and family therapist with over 30 years of experience in conflict resolution, improving interpersonal relationships, stress management, and navigating life transitions. She has successfully helped individuals, couples and families rediscover and create paths of resolution that have turned their lives around. She is the founder and CEO of Resolution Counseling Center, a private practice in Miami, Florida and is certified in hypnotherapy, family therapy, and meditation.

Main points from the show:

We reviewed how the 4 R’s are a roadmap, a guide to restore and rebalance yourself after loss and betrayal. True rest can help your mind to slow down and  soothe yourself. With Reflection, you can intentionally look inward and listen to redirect your inner critic's criticism to feedback. Re-setting is about intentionally creating a life for yourself. Not just what you do (activities), but also how you do life. The last R is Re-engagement is the decision in both mind and body to return to relationships. Return to the process of getting to know someone else, now with a fuller knowledge of ourselves and what we want. We can use this knowledge to direct us to people that will fill us, instead of drain us.
