On this episode of the Elevated Performance Podcast, we interview ex-pro basketball player turned Personal Trainer Arthur Santana. Arthur has a unique story. He was born in Brazil but moved to Queens, NY at a young age. He played college basketball at Eastern Wyoming and then Texas A&M International where he won his conference championship ring. He then decided to play professionally in Brazil, but was sidelined with a hip labral tear. He talks about his rehab process, and how the misdiagnosis and mishandling of his injury sidelined his professional basketball career. We talk about the difficulties that athletes go through with injuries, how to mentally deal with the rehabilitation process, and how to find your new direction when things change. Now he’s a personal trainer in the Phoenix area. He is now working towards making positive changes with youth sports, and proper training of young middle-school/high-school basketball player.
