    • Society & Culture

In our third episode of Cuentame: Tell me their story, we continue our ancestry journey with our great grandmother, Abuela Carmen, the eldest daughter of Abuela Camila.

Abuela Carmen was born in the 1910s in Morovis, Puerto Rico, located in the northern-central part of the island. During her late thirties, she and her children moved to Lower Manhattan, where she would spend the next fifty-plus years of her life.

For two episodes, we will explore the life of Abuela Carmen through the eyes of her youngest daughter, Carmen.

Through storytelling and research, we put together the pieces of our past and honor those who came before us.

Part one of Abuela Carmen’s life begins now, so pull up a chair, grab your cafecito, and listen to our stories.
