Krista speaks with Alexandra Carter, negotiation trainer for the UN, award-winning Professor of Law and Director of the Mediation Clinic at Columbia Law School. Her recently released book, Ask For More:10 Questions to Negotiate Anything, reveals the surprising secrets of successful negotiation and Alexandra stresses the importance of asking the right questions, really listening to what the other side has to say, and knowing when to stay strategically silent. She encourages everyone, especially women, to know their worth and to have the confidence to ask for more, not only financially, but also in their relationships and in their everyday lives. Alex hopes to dispel the notion that negotiation is selfish and she wants women to understand that by standing strong in their worth and their expertise they can teach people how to value them and inspire others to follow their example.
