    EPR PRESENTS...SHANE CLAIBORNE SPEAKS!

    EPR PRESENTS...SHANE CLAIBORNE SPEAKS!

Shane Claiborne graduated from Eastern University and did graduate work at Princeton Seminary. In 2010, he received an Honorary Doctorate from Eastern. His adventures have taken him from the streets of Calcutta where he worked with Mother Teresa to the wealthy suburbs of Chicago where he served at the influential mega-church Willow Creek. As a peacemaker, his journeys have taken him to some of the most troubled regions of the world – from Rwanda to the West Bank – and he’s been on peace delegations in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Shane is a founder and board member of The Simple Way, a faith community in inner city Philadelphia that has helped birth and connect radical faith communities around the world. He is married to Katie Jo, a North Carolina girl who also fell in love with the city (and with Shane). They were wed in St. Edwards church, the formerly abandoned cathedral into which homeless families relocated in 1995, launching the beginning of the Simple Way community and a new phase of faith-based justice making.

Shane writes and travels extensively speaking about peacemaking, social justice, and Jesus.

His work has appeared in Esquire, SPIN, Christianity Today, and The Wall Street Journal, and he has been on everything from Fox News and Al Jazeera to CNN and NPR. He’s given academic lectures at Harvard, Princeton, Brown, Liberty, Duke, and Notre Dame.

'MEASURING THE HEARTBEAT OF THE CHURCH' with Pastor Will Griffith

'MEASURING THE HEARTBEAT OF THE CHURCH' with Pastor Will Griffith

In this special EPR broadcast, Pastor Will Griffith draws from his short essay, 'Measuring the Heartbeat of the Church' and talks about perspective and seeing things from another vantage point. Pastor Will contends that Jesus Himself began looking at the 'Big Picture' from the very start and not simply at this world alone. We, as followers of Christ, must do the same. Rather than look at and to this world alone, to begin looking at the larger scope of our walk with Him, says Pastor Will.

An EPR Special: An Interview with R&B Legend Timmy Thomas on World Peace

An EPR Special: An Interview with R&B Legend Timmy Thomas on World Peace

EVANGEL PACIFIC RADIO PRESENTS...This Special Broadcast.

Pastor Will Griffith is joined by R&B Legend and contemporary peacemaker Timmy Thomas, along with his management team, Steve Tucker and Frank Levy. This is an EPR Exclusive interview on the eve of the launch of Thomas' WE CAN LIVE TOGETHER World Peace Campaign.

In 1972, Timmy Thomas was watching the evening news hosted by Walter Cronkite. Mr. Cronkite was reporting on the Vietnam war, and the thousands of American and Viet Cong soldiers that had died in battle. Timmy thought "Why Can't We Live Together". This thought became a song that was embraced by millions.

The song was initially banned in South Africa during Apartheid, yet it became their national anthem at Nelson Mandela's inauguration, where Timmy performed live in front of 200,000 people.

Timmy has had other hits world wide, as well as having his songs placed in movies such as Boys Don't Cry, C.R.A.Z.Y., Dick, Radio, and Bachelor Party. Over 100 artists including  Sade, Steve Winwood, Santana, and Joan Osborne have covered "Why Can't We Live Together".

Timmy has always lived his life for peace and love, from marching peacefully with Dr. Martin Luther King, to traveling to Haiti as an airline ambassador setting up safe houses for children that have been human trafficking victims.

Innocent children are being killed by war, in the streets, and in our schools, and by governmet decree. Peace is needed now more than ever! So, he is reaching out to renowned artists in the epic remake "Why Can't We Live Together",
