    After a full week entrenched on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, protesters at the pro-Palestinian encampment remain steadfast, refusing to leave until the university agrees to their demands to divest from Israel. Tensions picked up on Wednesday when a man sprayed a chemical substance on some of the protesters’ belongings.
    More than 100 Penn Medicine residents and fellows rallied Wednesday afternoon for better wages for the hospital network’s front-line workers, as their union continues to negotiate terms.

    The Pennsylvania House passed a bill that would allow pre-canvassing of mail-in ballots, addressing what all southeastern county officials have considered one of the easiest election fixes. But, the bill passed the state House on party lines and is expected to stall out in the Senate.



    Philadelphia is receiving a $14.2 million grant to make repairs to historic bridges that have been threatened by flooding in recent years.

    A 15-year-old girl was taken into custody after she allegedly stabbed her grandmother to death early Wednesday morning inside their Cobbs Creek home.
    Police have identified the child found inside a duffel bag in West Philadelphia in March as 4-year-old Damari Carter, who was reported missing three months earlier.
    Philadelphia’s Bicentennial Bell is almost ready to ring again. The historic bell, gifted to the United States by Britain nearly 50 years ago, was officially hoisted in place on the grounds of its new home, the Benjamin Rush Garden at Third and Walnut streets.

    The Sixers are still alive in their first-round playoff series with the Knicks. Tyrese Maxey saved the 76ers from elimination with a huge finish in overtime, cutting the Knicks' lead to 3-2.
    Investigators are using advanced technology and cameras to help solve hit-and-run cases in Philadelphia. In about a third of the hit-and-runs so far this year, police say they have been able to successfully identify the driver.

    Mayor Parker’s vision for year-round schools came a little more into focus Tuesday in City Council during school district budget hearings.


    As voter ID laws continue to change around the country, at least one group is working to keep the American public informed — and to help people get the identification documents they need, for free, to vote in this year’s presidential election.

    After years as a Schedule 1 drug, alongside heroin and LSD, marijuana could soon be federally reclassified as a less-dangerous substance. The move from the Drug Enforcement Administration could have ripple effects across the U.S. KYW's Conner Barkon has more.
    Fatal hit-and-run crashes are down in Philadelphia this year, compared to an explosion of them a few years ago. And investigators say new technology is helping them identify more hit-and-run drivers. KYW's Crime and Justice reporter Kristen Johanson explains.
    Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker is defending her plans for the school district. The mayor faced City Council on Tuesday, a day after she reappointed Joyce Wilkerson to the school board despite Council's efforts to quash her candidacy. KYW’s City Hall bureau chief Pat Loeb was there.
    Atlantic City is putting more eyes in the sky for public safety. KYW South Jersey reporter Mike Dougherty attended a demonstration where officials showed off some of the new technology to assist in marina fires and fuel spills.
