Govt. Overreach In Rural Communities With Chris Bennett

Govt. Overreach In Rural Communities With Chris Bennett

Chris Bennett returns to the podcast. He is a writer for Farm Journal that has been on the show several times. Despite this, we have not delved into his mysterious and shrouded past. One of the things I always rely on for Chris is a cold, objective look at the way the government is interacting with its people, particularly in rural America.
Today we talk about Chris' parents being missionaries in southeast Arkansas and eventually moving to Jordan of all places.
We also talk about some of the big issues going on in the world today, including conflict in the Middle East, how high trust networks amongst small communities are being lost, and whether the United States is still a Christian culture.

The Future Of A.I. With Jim Rutt

The Future Of A.I. With Jim Rutt

Jim Rutt is the former CEO of Network Solutions and a graduate of MIT and now is a leader in the Game B Movement. Jim and Vance discuss the importance of understanding the basics of artificial intelligence and its potential implications.
Jim discusses his experience with using Chat GPT to write movie screenplays, mentioning that it can produce a semi-professional mid-grade screenplay in 20 hours compared to 500 hours for a human.
He is also in favor of self-driving cars, citing their potential to help elderly people who are no longer safe to drive.
Jim mentions the "Foom" theory, where AI becomes 1000 times smarter than humans in a short period of time, and the "slow takeoff" theory, where AI gradually becomes more intelligent over time. He also proposes the idea of "Liquid democracy" as a potential solution to the current governance structure, but acknowledges it is a long shot to implement.
