We get stuck into our first #litfestbookclub reviews of the year, having read the recommended January readings in the 2020 Australian Literary Journal - Taboo by Kim Scott and Blakwork by Alison Whittaker. The Patriarchy has it coming! We were delighted to discuss the new feminist ideas festival, Broadside with its Director, Tam Zimet. Over the weekend of 9 and 10 November at Melbourne Town Hall, Broadside will present two days of unabashedly feminist programming, spotlighting a remarkable line-up of international and local speakers, and delivering a powerfully feminist agenda. It’s about smart, funny people sharing their expertise and their stories.

A companion to the Australian Literary Diary, Title No Title has launched the LitFest podcast, a free monthly podcast that discusses the Australian Literary Festival landscape, featuring conversations with writers, readers and festival lovers. LitFest provides a platform for the promotion and discussion of Literary Festivals across Australia, regardless of size or status. We are festival-heads: we love the sense of place that is so often the beating heart of regional festivals, the volunteers and committees who come together to make them happen and, of course, the discussion of literature and ideas that is so integral to the evolution of the Australian cultural landscape.

Also, we laugh a lot.
