    Spotlighting US Census

    This week we hear from Toby Nelson with the US Census. People are filling out their census on line and Seattle was in number one place in the nation, just passed up by Louisville. Brier is in the top 100 smaller towns to submit online census. In August employees will begin going door to door to get the information from those who haven’t filled out their forms on line or via mail.
    The US Census webpage also has educational tools for teachers and parents.

    Spotlighting Veterans For Worship

    This week we hear from Deb Maund the founder of Veterans for worship. Veterans For Worship is focused on reaching veterans and connecting them to God one event at a time.  Veterans For Worship is a church that reaches veterans and their families in a chapel environment. We meet at various locations in churches & VFWs.

    Their volunteer chaplains, chaplain candidates, and members donate their time and resources to also meet with veterans at veteran stand down events and work with community veteran leaders from VetCenters, the VA, other VSO (Veteran Service Organizations). We provide counseling, prayer, and suicide prevention.

    This week we hear from Dillon Honcoop, his podcast Real Food Real People is a conversation starter for farmers. His hope is to connect the public with the farmers. Help them see the farmers and their families. He interviews farmers from Washington State, from beef to fruit tree to veggie farmers. He is passionate to let people know where their food comes from and how we can support one another. He talks about the importance of caring for the soil as much as the animals who walk on it and the food that comes from it.
