The return is here and its coming in with a bang. In this introductory episode we catch you up on what we’ve been up to, introduce the idea of uncompromising Blackness as an everyday practice and speculate about what constitutes Black futurity. If you missed hearing our lovely voices, you will definitely enjoy the good fun, ‘guerrilla’ theorizing and much needed soul work.

Claiming Black Aliveness: Communing with Gentleness (and a small section on educating white friends)

Claiming Black Aliveness: Communing with Gentleness (and a small section on educating white friends)

This is what happens when two caring hearts sit in front of a microphone: we commune! Join us in this (unplanned) episode where we delve deep on the idea of black aliveness as introduced by Kevin Quashie and ponder what it means to have flowers as armours in a world where resistance is the default for black living. Apologies for the sound production :-)

Let’s Talk About -ISMS!!! : Navigating Wake Work Under White Supremacy

Join us in a conversation with our guests, Betel and Collins, as we navigate our pitfalls in carrying wake work as we confront the isms in both their dominating and liberatory forms. We share our continuing journeys living with racism, sexism, classism but go the extra mile to call ourselves in wherever we fall short! Some shots are fired so you probably don’t want to listen to this as you fall asleep but what we all agree about in the end is that there is an ongoing war and we our dear listeners gotta stay woke coz the neighbour’s creepy!

Dope content

Their first season was dope! I appreciate that they’re dealing with hard social questions and figuring out how to, in good faith, talk about theory and how it translates to every day life. I’m excited to see and hear more from the team.
