Ep 5: Brides and their bodies with Solen Collet

What happened to weddings? The pandemic is decimating the events industry and weddings are being postponed left, right and centre. Danni of The Chachi Power Project talks to wedding photographer, Solen Collet, about how to say a royal f-you to the usual drudgery of weddings and all the pressures that come with them. Danni shares some listeners’ advice and Solen reflects on how the current pandemic restrictions could be seen in a positive light, with couples focusing on the true meaning of their wedding day without the usual stress and expectations.

Ep 4: Medical Fatphobia, Chronic Pain and Diet Culture with Ly Kerr

Ep 4: Medical Fatphobia, Chronic Pain and Diet Culture with Ly Kerr

It's episode 4 of Chachi Chats and this week Danni talks to journalist and fellow Scottish Body Positive Activist, Ly Kerr. Danni and Ly discuss the harmful effects of medical fatphobia in general, and the impact it has had on Ly's own body and life. Ly talks about her own body image journey, about how she deals with the continual frustration of chronic pain, and tells Danni what really pisses her off about The Body Positive Movement. They round off the episode with another good discussion about what language is safest to use around kids when talking about our bodies. This week diet culture can definitely get in the bin.

Ep. 3: Disability, Sex and Dating with Emily Yates

Ep. 3: Disability, Sex and Dating with Emily Yates

In this episode Danni talks to Emily Yates, a journalist, sex educator and accessibility consultant, about the work she does to encourage awareness around sex and disability. They despair over tossers on Tinder (#tosserfilter) and figure out ways to help remove the stigma around disabled people and their rights to express themselves sexually. Emily is cute and fierce in equal measure and hopefully this episode shines a light on where inequalities around disability feature in our culture.

Danni and Sarah have some helpful tips for parents to help them raise intuitive eaters, and they delve into the unhelpful world of weight stigma and the impact it has on society. Ep 1: Intuitive Eating, Body Positive Yoga and Fatphobia with Gillian McCollum

In this episode Danni and Gillian talk about the controlling messaging of diet culture and how intuitive eating can benefit you if you are a disordered eater. They play around with ways to reconnect with your body which counteract toxic external (and internalised) systems of oppression aka Fatphobia and how we should be aiming for Utopia, also known as 'a matriarchal society'. So real, so smart

LOVED the premier episode! Great information without jargon or overly clinical psych talk. Accessible and engaging, literally a chat. Danni is warm and funny (of course) and this pod leaves me wanting more, much more! Keep being great!
