    Black Vampires

    Black Vampires

Three of the most important vampires of the '70s were Black, and here they are in all their glory. Black vampires have been an important part of the canon all the way back to the beginning, and this is just a part of their stories. Also, a lot of the music in this episode is by the inimitable Sam Waymon. Used with his permission. You can find more of his music here.

Bestselling author, Grady Hendrix, continues his vain attempts to get you to buy his latest book, How to Sell a Haunted House, and to sweeten the deal he's hired Chris LaMartina of The WNUF Halloween Special fame to produce the show, and forcibly drafted Mike Walls of Audio Esoterica to engineer the spooky sounds.

    Vampires: Surviving the 70s!

    Vampires: Surviving the 70s!

As the '70s began, motion picture vampires were d-e-a-d dead. How would they survive the disco decade? By moving to the small screen, starring on Broadway, and trying to be funny. In the process, they fulfilled their true destiny and finally became romantic heroes.

Bestselling author, Grady Hendrix, continues his vain attempts to get you to buy his latest book, How to Sell a Haunted House, and to sweeten the deal we're going to discuss Evel Knievel, Suckula, and recruit an entire cast to do the voices, hire Chris LaMartina of The WNUF Halloween Special fame to produce the show, and forcibly draft Mike Walls of Audio Esoterica to engineer the spooky sounds.

    Vampires: House of Hammer!

    Vampires: House of Hammer!

Welcome to the House of Hammer! This tiny British film studio resurrected Dracula in 1958 and gave movies the most iconic image of the vampire since Bela Lugosi in 1931! Then Dracula killed them dead.

Bestselling author, Grady Hendrix, continues his vain attempts to get you to buy his latest book, How to Sell a Haunted House, and to sweeten the deal he throws in lots of talk about the menace of dope, the illegal international trade in vampires, and he brings in an entire cast to do the voices, recruits Chris LaMartina of The WNUF Halloween Special fame to produce, and forcibly drafted Mike Walls of Audio Esoterica to engineer.

    Vampire A/V Club

    Vampire A/V Club

We're going to the movies! Three vampire movies planted the seeds for the 20th century's gallery of glampires and we'll tackle them all in this episode and once we've taken them to the floor we'll cover them in hugs and kisses. It's time for some nookie with Nosferatu, drama with Dracula, and cold vampin' with Vampyr. Bestselling author, Grady Hendrix, continues his struggle to get you to buy his book, The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires, and to make his argument he throws in some plain talk about syphilis, sexually insatiable women, hideous war wounds, gas attacks, super-clean underwear, and poetry.

    Saturday School 3: Not Draculas

    Saturday School 3: Not Draculas

Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay  debunking the legends of notorious real-life vampires, Vlad the Impaler and Elizabeth Bathory. Who turn out to have nothing to do with vampires after all.

This episode is written, narrated, and produced by Grady Hendrix, New York Times bestselling author of The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. You can learn all his weaknesses at gradyhendrix.com.

    Vampire English

    Vampire English

It's a monster-sized marathon of massive mayhem as Super Scary Haunted Homeschool finally tackles Dracula! Also, emotional vampires, feminism, Baby Mozart, sapphic bloodsuckers, the prom king and queen of Vampire High, and why tall people are degenerates. Except for George Washington. It's another thinly-veiled attempt to get you to buy The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. Will the suffering never end? Award-winning author, Grady Hendrix, takes you on an educational and emotional (edumotional?) journey to the bloody red heart of 19th century vampirism. You'll never be the same.
