Ep. 77 - What Gose On

Episode 77 starts with a dive into Ringo's role as the original Beatle to bring Indian music to the band before we discuss breweries appropriating rockstars visages, teaching Scotty how to drink beer from a bottle, THC beverages, Cheech as the go-getter of the duo, when the Beatles were all by themselves, probably a little too much Jawbreaker talk, RB throwing a middle eight in to make a Beatles song better, Scotty coming out late with this a sleeper fave, and the questionable Ringo sung "What Goes On."

Ep. 76 - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Brandy -Reprise (feat. Alex Goldman of the Reply All Pod)

We kick into the last quarter of our first century of episodes with a deep discussion of reprises, especially as they relate to SOAD jerks.  We then record an INTRO IN ARREARS before introducing true pod royalty in our guest Alex Goldman, taking Alex on a journey that includes a serious discussion of pronunciation, the worst Tweets of 2023, Alex's music Slow Fawns, The Beastie Boys, a lot about A Day in the Life, iconic 1-2-3-4s, the strange connections between podcast producers, and the end of the concept with an analysis of the Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band - Reprise.

    Chaser -We Went to Beatlesfest!

It says it on the tin, people.  Your dear Blottos went to the 50th annual Fest for Beatles Fans, held this year at the TWA Hotel at JFK Airpot - the very same airport where the Beatles landed 60 years ago.  MARVEL! as we reflect on our experience.  THRILL! as we play field recordings and interviews.  GUFFAW! as we have a few yucks and discuss who ended up on stage with all the performers to end the night.

    Ep 75 - Doc 'N Stormy Robert

We hit episode 75 by hitting that place in the Venn diagram where Beatles fans meet Nathan Fielder fans.  From there we discuss our own version of our Spotify Wrapped for the year, our Beatles-themed Air BnB, a critical review of the Apple TV John Lennon doc with all its Unsolved Mystery feels, the origin of "The Wo," The Beatles down under phase, a review and update of the Mystery Word bylaws, and the Revolver-era, pill-based song Dr. Robert.

Ep. 74 - Within You WithStout You (feat. Chris Ballew of Presidents of the USA / Caspar Babypants)

We take the big leap into Episode 74 with a listen to some communal chants before we record an intro in arrears, remind listeners of ClarisWorks, introduce the incomparable Chris Ballew of the Presidents of the United States of America and Casper Babypants, revel in Chris' amazing rock and roll journey, make mistakes about the life of Jimmy Nicols, play songs that make little kids do a creepy dance, question why sitar masters don't just get a Snark tuner, learn about the health benefits of local bone broths from local chickens, learn the truth about Chris’ favorite canned fruit, and discover the beauty of the George Harrison penned/hummed "Within You Without You."

Ep . 73.- Ports of Love

We ask you to bear with us as we begin this episode with our bylaw approved quarterly staff meeting.  From there we remind everyone that we were early on the Mal train, dig into our single album White Album tracks and titles, differentiate between Pee Wee Herman and the Marx Brothers, question the Outbreak Monkey of Beatles for Sale, question an instrumental verse several times, explicate bays of hale, marvel at RB's Bowie connection to this song, invent snants (TM), and discuss the rose colored glasses of "Words of Love."

This Please Pleases Me.

Just an astounding display of love and respect for and knowledge about the Beatles. This is a really fun listen; it’s one of those pods where you feel like you’re in the room with the guys, gradually getting soused. Discovering and then binging this pod (after seeing Tommy’s All Apaulogies T at a gig) and declaring myself a Scruff is yet another milestone in my meaningful, lifelong relationship with the Beatles … Cheers, lads!

Best Beatles Podcast!

Simply put- these guys are the best. The podcast is fun, the guests are great, the concept is awesome! The list is debatable, which adds to the engaging vibe of each episode. Listeners will laugh at their antics, learn something new about the Beatles, and ideally get a buzz on while listening to each episode. Can’t say enough great things about this podcast!

Congratulations on 50!

This is an wonderful podcast of a group of friends who invite you over to their table to pull up a chair, grab a drink, and talk about The Beatles. After a few episodes , you feel like these are your longstanding friends as well and you look forward to the next episode to what new high jinks will unfold. Keep up the great job!!
