I came from Shannon Mateo’s tiktok as well and listening to her speak is awesome. She speaks super eloquently and is great to listen to. However, hearing the guy is uncomfortable. He just does not have a voice for podcasts, sorry! Also don’t act like you know what she went through — you simply don’t!

I came here to listen to the episode with Shannon Mateo and found myself getting super irritated every time the host spoke, his vocal fry is so bothersome to listen to and his attempts to relate to her immense loss and call it “an act of god” were disgusting. Shannon is very good at telling stories and painting a picture, and her ability to do this was hindered by the host inserting himself and changing the subject.

I wish you wouldn’t have attempted to relate to Shannon’s experience. I did not appreciate you implying that Shannon’s son’s death was ‘an act of God to bring lessons or for a greater purpose,’ also adding on that not everyone has to hold your opinion. You should have kept your opinion to yourself. Sometimes tragedies are just that. Your commentary was not only unintelligent and unneeded, but insensitive. Nothing you said brought anything substantial to the conversation at hand and I basically just waited for Shannon to begin speaking again. I don’t even understand why you were talking about yourself and experiences so frequently when they had nothing to do with Shannon’s story. I literally cringed at some of the things you said. I would have rated this 1 star but I’m giving it 2 just because I am happy that Shannon was given a platform outside of Tiktok.
