It's a Wine Podcast, but NOT a Podcast all about wine...Meet Mike! He's tall, way into wine, and a former Disc Jockey. This podcast is his life rolled into one fun bundle of wine geekery, relatable conversation, many sips of wine AND laughter. Wine should be fun, right? This podcast tries to be fun. Based out of Nicholson Ranch Winery in Sonoma, California. Yes, THAT Sonoma...wine country!

Alissa From Down on the Square...
Alissa Limbocker, from Pangloss Cellars who have a tasting room in downtown Sonoma, started her life in the suburbs of Sacramento and eventually attended college and got on "the path" to what she was raised to believe was a good life. But at some point she realized something was missing. That something turned out to be wine. Hear about her "ah ha!" moment while watching a documentary that led her toward her destiny. Of course a couple of wines are also sipped and talked about. It's a great chat!

Walter Hamlin from Last Bottle Wines!
Mike's pal Walter Hamlin was raised in the 7th Day Adventist Church, so there was NO alcohol. Surprisingly Walter has mad a career for himself in the wine business. Funny how life happens. Mike and Walter chat in the Vintner's Room at Nicholson Ranch about their time working for a small wine wholesaler in San Francisco; Walter's first gig in the bizz at one of Napa's most well-known entities; how Mike handles bachelorette parties at the winery, AND they sip a couple of wonderful wines. It's a good chat!

For the Love of Wine and Interesting Conversations
I recently visited Napa and Sonoma for a wine tasting trip and had the great pleasure to meet Mike Stone at Nicholson Ranch. He was such a genuinely nice and fun person to talk with, and when he said he had a podcast I knew I had to listen. I was planning on just checking out one episode during my flight back home, but I devoured six of them! I had a book with me as well as downloaded movies to pass the time for the 5 plus hour journey, but I got to neither because I was just enjoying myself so much with the Tall Mike Wine shows! The episodes I listened to had a mix of wine experts and novices as guests, and while you can certainly learn a ton about wine (Mike is a great teacher who makes tasting very approachable), it’s the conversations with his guests that keep you in rapt attention. There were discussions about books, mountain climbing, stand-up comedy, and all kinds of interesting topics. He digs deep to get into his guests’ lives and their journeys. . Mike also has such an engaging presence and a pitch perfect voice (no surprise he was a disc jockey before become a wine expert). I highly recommend this podcast!
Best Wine Podcast
Wine can be complicated but Mike breaks it down in the most entertaining and digestible way possible. Won’t find a better way to consume wine through your ears
