It’s our season finale! Brittany and Aurelia are talking about growth in this season of life. Plus, the ways our Nuance Tea collaboration and content curation has given us space to dream, reflect, and create the reality we want to see in the world.

We start off our round up with conversations on the latest pop culture and current events (1:04). Everything from H.E.R.’s new album, Chris Brown in the news again, Britney Spears’ conservatorship, unjust residential schools, and the arrest of faith leaders in a moral march in D.C.

Aurelia and Brittany talk about growth through the challenges of the past year, the process of creating Nuance Tea, and the (10:52) Brittany talks about how creating Nuance Tea mantras and collaboration with Aurelia has led to overall reflection and a way to measure her personal growth in this season. Plus, she is finding comfort in leaning into taboos and talks about her sex-positive Instagram account @spirit.free.healer. Aurelia talks about taking huge steps of faith to dream big and manifest the reality she wants to see for herself through our podcast visioning and writing her book, A Brown Girl’s Epiphany.

We end the last episode of season 1 by giving a personal mantra to express our gratitude for this season of life and the ebb & flow it brings (30:28). Aurelia affirms, “we can create the life we want for ourselves” and “ideas beget ideas.” Brittany states, “It is okay to lean into the joy and the pain.” Thank you to all who supported and listened in our first season. 10. Enneagram

    10. Enneagram

In episode 10, Aurelia and Brittany chat about the enneagram and how it has influenced their focus on personal expansion, empathy and understanding others better. We talk about the intersection of the enneagram and race, plus share resources for taking a deeper dive into its concepts.

To kickoff our essentials and name the ways we’re caring for ourselves, Brittany talks about how she keeps calm by taking a spiritual bath. Aurelia brings an item that reminds her of home on a family vacation (0:58).

In our roundup conversation, we catch up on pop culture and anything new to highlight (5:37), Brittany talks about High on the Hog on Netflix, and both Aurelia & Brittany connect over watching the premiere of In the Heights, and talk about reviews of the show as well as the controversy around colorism and representation (this conversation was recorded before LMM issued an apologize).

Our main conversation on the enneagram is a snapshot of Aureilia’s & Brittany’s personality type which are numbers 6 & 9, respectively (12:08). We break down the nine number system of the ancient personality typing system, how we’ve grown through knowing the enneagram, and how it’s helped us empathize with others more. Plus, we reference The Road Back to You and The Enneagram Institute as resources for continued learning and ways to know your enneagram number.

In this week’s communiTEA prompt we discuss the mantra: nuance is the tea! (41:45) Shoutout to Kristen & Larry for responding to our prompt, “in one word describe what nuance means to you.” They answered respectively with vulnerability & freedom, and we couldn’t agree more.

    9. Social Media

    9. Social Media

In episode 9, Brittany and Aurelia are talking all about social media - the impact of it in the past 15 months, the ways we utilize it to inform our reality, and curate a meaningful way to connect.

In our essentials for the week we name how we’re feeling and discuss how we work through anxiety. Brittany is practicing self-advocacy, and Aurelia is surrendering to her timeline and finding ways to stay in a creative headspace (inspired by Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic to listen to your creative nudges).

Before jumping into our main conversation about our connection to social media, we share our mantra: “social media can inform my reality without becoming my reality.” Aurelia and Brittany give personal responses to the prompt on ways social media has been useful and ways we’ve needed to set boundaries with it.

We discuss curating a healthy social media space and when we’ve noticed it’s best to disengage. Plus, we talk about wokeness and cancel culture in the current age of social media.

    8. Astrology

    8. Astrology

In episode 8, Aurelia and Brittany take a deep dive into their astrology chart by conversing about their sun, moon, and rising signs. Plus, lean into destigmatizing our connection to astrology as clergywomen.

To kickstart our roundup conversation (0:40), we’re talking about our favorite pop culture topics of the week. Brittany is watching The Nevers, Legendary & Pose. Aurelia is reading Untamed by Glennon Doyle, which inspired her to lean into ease & being her full self as she writes her book, A Brown Girl’s Epiphany.

In the essentials (6:52), we name the ways we’re caring for ourselves before jumping into our main conversation. As we move into naming our sun, moon, and rising signs, we recognize the ways we connect to astrology now and what we thought or knew about it growing up (13:36). We speak about the rhythm of the lunar cycle and how Brittany has created full moon blessings on her patreon that help us tap into its power, even more.

Brittany and Aurelia share each other’s natal chart and invite listeners to read their chart too by going to cafeastrology.com or costarastrology.com.

In this week’s shoutouts we discuss the mantra: give yourself permission (40:24). CommuniTEA question: what do you need to give yourself permission to do today or this week? We highlight Joyce’s response, “I give myself permission to be angry, knowing it is meant for protection of myself and those I love...”; and Naomi said “today I give myself permission to not cook dinner and order food delivery...and nap while my kids watch a show.”
