    Tolkien Letter 1

Once upon a time, I gifted $10+/month patrons subscriptions to my Substack on Tolkien's letters, but that process became overly tedious. However, I am now bringing it back - in a way. I am starting to record my reading of these articles and posting them to the Patreon podcast feed. The first episode is now available to everyone, but, moving forward, this series will be exclusive to $10+/month patrons.

In addition to this series, patronage will provide you with ad-free episodes of the Mythic Mind Legacy and Fellowship podcasts delivered into a single feed.

52 - Fellowship Chat with Elisabeth Dawson

For the first recorded Fellowship chat, Elisabeth Dawson and I talked about philosophy, Boethius, the arts, and more. We did not have a clear agenda for this conversation, but I believe it moved in some very worthwhile directions. Most future Fellowship chats will be on the Mythic Mind Fellowship podcast, so be sure to subscribe to that one as well!

Excellent kierkegaard breakdown

Great companion to reading ‘the concept of anxiety’! Thank you for your hard work

Helpful and Intriguing

Andrew does a great job of taking abstract philosophical concepts like beauty (I.e., aesthetics) and making them into something we can more easily grasp and ponder. For example, in one episode, he says that something is beautiful only if it points us to goodness or truth, and that God is the ultimate source of beauty and wisdom. This was a helpful distinction for me, and it opened up a whole new category in my thinking of what makes something truly beautiful. Thank you and keep up the great work, Andrew!

A great listen

I have gotten so much from this show, particularly the episodes about Kierkegaard. I’d been wanting to read his work and Andrew does an excellent job making his arguments plain in a clear way. You can tell he’s excited about the ideas and eager to share them. My one humble suggestion, as someone new to some of these concepts, would be to slow down slightly when explaining theoretical concepts. Obviously no one can change their speech easily, but I find myself wanting to listen on .75 time. Cheers for all the effort that goes into this 🙏
