    Yuletide

    Yuletide

What does a toxic decoration, horse stew, drunken promises, and mermaid goats have to do with each other? This highly caffeinated episode talks about some misconceptions surrounding about what is and isn’t pagan in our modern Yuletide celebrations.

Are drink minimums a good idea? Is Santa Odin? Are the Winter Nights the 12 days of Yule? Should you put mistletoe in your punch? Spoiler: No.

    Hardships Aren't Abnormal

    Hardships Aren't Abnormal

I talk about why I’ve been AWOL for the past year, how hardships are normal, and how they aren't to be feared. I give you some examples of hardships caused by life and by other garbage human beings that the ancient Norse people overcame. Why? They overcame terrible challenges, and you can too. You have and you can--repeatedly. They were people and you are people too! Yay for the fact everyone goes through horrible times in their lives?

    Voluspa Simplified

    Voluspa Simplified

Völuspá is the treasured monolog of a cheeky witch verbally pulverizing Odin by recounting his most painful events--past and future. You guys requested I read some of the The Lore in modern, regular English… so no better place to start than with super foundational Völuspá. It is my second favorite piece of The Lore mostly because of the huge amount of attitude. She is attitude goals. She is a witch with a capital “B”.

Awesome podcast

Love this podcast very knowledgeable and truthful and very straight to the point as a newly found heathen I love this podcast can’t wait to listen to more podcasts in the future!

So misleading

I found this, browsed, found the episode on Heathenry not being racist, fully agree, and went to listen.
This person has very little critical thinking. For starters”white supremacy” means white people want to rule everyone. That’s not a “white thing” at all lol. She can’t even see that. And her own point to prove it, actually helps prove the opposite lol: “Germani included X countries! Hitler went to war with these countries to take them back!! (He wasn’t going after other countries to be all supreme over them?? But I thought we were supremacists???) How DARE anyone want to rebuild their people and territories! Actually other races doing it is fine, but white people are the scum of the earth, and anything they do (good or bad) will be used against them as proof!!” So many facepalms lol

And then she completely ignores the VERY REAL fact that FAKE “Heathens”, or actors, will put on a great racist show for the news cameras, and somehow THAT represents everyone in the movement lol. Clearly she’s never been big or important enough to be targeted by the news, otherwise she’d be very aware of the devious ways in which they work, not actually telling the news, but only what furthers agendas.

It’s so bad that I can’t trust anything she has to say. Even the handful of examples she gives of “not racist behavior” in the beginning, as if that represents every Heiðinn all over Europe and Scandinavia, for thousands of years.. lol ridiculous. People don’t preserve their culture and their ethnicity by blending it with others - that creates something else. And even though every other race is also exclusively procreating with their own people, whites are evil if they do that lol. I can’t even.

Can’t even pronounce Ásatrú correctly?

How are we supposed to take serious an “Asatru academic” who can’t even pronounce the word correctly?

The first syllable of this Icelandic word is pronounced “ow” (rhymes with how), not “oh” as this podcaster says. Pretty easy to find confirmation of this on YouTube by actual academics like Dr. Jackson Crawford or Dr. Mathias Nordvig.
