The Question of Internal, External and Both.

The Question of Internal, External and Both.

The refrain in the teaching on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness refers to contemplating internally, externally, and internally and externally. Jon and Doug talk about how they receive that part of the teaching, which doesn't appear in any obvious way in other suttas but is actually a very important part of mindfulness. Friendly and insightful Dharma chat

I always enjoy these conversations about how the various aspects of early Buddhism relate to modern life.

Really good listening

For this non-Buddhist neophyte listener, Doug and Jon’s discussions are worth time as good conversations, simply. The subject is obviously vast, and the hosts convey a sense of purpose and may cover a lot of ground in a single brief chat. But it’s never an overwhelming information dump, it’s just exercise in sharing thoughtfully, each time, as far as topic and episode span permit. You have to appreciate that.
