No, the Sky Is Not Falling

    Reckoning with the “Anxious Generation”

Social psychologist Jonathan Haidt continues to churn out bestsellers and his latest book, The Anxious Generation, is adding a new level of urgency to the conversation around parenting. But do we really need Dr. Haidt to tell us that smartphones and social media shouldn’t be in the hands of young children? TOL listeners know we’re fans of Haidt’s work, so this isn’t a knock on him. It is, however, a bit of a nudge to stop outsourcing our parenting to so-called experts. Join us as we discuss this issue.

    Why is Harrison Butker Controversial?

A conservative Catholic speaking to conservative Catholics at a Catholic university argues for the importance of God and family values. And breaks the internet? We recently received a thoughtful question from a listener in Canada about the issue of reparations. Though we certainly can’t close the book on such a complex subject, we did our level best to offer some constructive thoughts on the issue. We pray it’s helpful to you.

A New Kind of Celebrity Christian

A New Kind of Celebrity Christian

We’ve talked about Ayan Hirsi Ali. We’ve talked about a grudging admission from professor Richard Dawkins that he’s now a cultural Christian. And now we’ll add the bubbly, charming, and highly articulate Russell Brand to the discussion. We’ve seen this before, right? Kanye West, anyone? How about Bob Dylan? But something feels different this time. Join us as we talk about that difference.

A podcast for believers in Christ to think through culture

I have been listening to Cameron since Vital Signs. I have heard of Nathan through him as well but now enjoy hearing him. These two together get my Sunday mornings going before I go into serve my church. On listening to the recent podcasts of recent conversion stories, it was said we Christians should be courageous so to speak. I just want to leave this thought that I recently heard from one of my pastors- courage and bravery is often credited for intimacy with the Lord (referring to stories such as David & Goliath). What I took away is that only a believer in Christ who is intimate with the Lord and spends time with Him regularly is who will be bold and courageous in culture. Let’s show the world what it looks like when we take authority in Christ. Thank you both for such quality content for the believer to think. I’m a mom of 3 girls and homeschool them actively teaching them intimacy with the Lord so they know how to defend the faith. Blessings to you and your families!

All Episodes

These guys literally think out loud from a Christian perspective. They do an excellent job on all episodes. It’s a nice mental workout and keeps me current on daily social/ political/ theological issues and I learn a great deal each time I listen. Even if you are not a believer, they bring fresh perspective to many topics. Give a listen!
