It's Becky's Birthday, The USWNT just won two in a row under Emma Hayes, and the Good Vibes are Fergalicious. The team takes it back to 2007 to celebrate goalscorer Lily Yohannes, being that (millennials, close your eyes), that's when she was born. Long time listener, first time reviewer. I felt compelled to thank Ashley Sanchez for being so vulnerable about her struggles at and since the WC, and for Sam’s ability to navigate a sensitive conversation with such empathy. Such an honest and important discussion. Thanks for shedding light on the less illuminated experiences of athletes.
Setting the (cross) bar for coverage of women’s football
Sam Mewis is quite literally the best commentator on all things women’s football. She speaks with not only such intelligence and insight, but compassion for players and teams around the world, showing that you can critique and support at the same time with a level of nuance that is often lacking. I truly feel like Sam and the entire Women’s Game team along with Good Vibes FC are setting the (cross) bar for how women’s football should be covered (sorry for the terrible pun.) Funfetti cake for all!
Loved the Van de Donk interview
Good to have to context of why much of Daniëlle's English speech has an Aussie accent. I appreciate how Sam makes guests feel comfortable. Becky is💥as a podcaster! I can't wait to cast my vote for Saeurbrun/Girma in 2036 when Naomi is old enough to run
