Story choice excellent. Chat isn't
I so much appreciate the work they do on this well produced podcast, that I feel bad complaining, but—I am in the VAST majority of listeners who resent having to blindly scroll through all the chat before I'm able to hear the content.
Why Don't the producers consider either 1. Putting the chatter at the end. That way, if any listener actually wants it, it will be up to them to keep playing. Or, at least do what other fine fiction podcasts like Tales to Terrify do, and post the ACTUAL TIMES of the content– such as: Story @ 13:21, Poem @ 26:32. That way, you Don't end up with irritated listeners, who would withhold a star for this fine podcast because of resenting the feeling of being forced to listen to all the blah, blah, blah to win the prize of getting to hear the content.
Excellent stories, expertly read
The Uncanny Magazine podcast is a great addition to an already great product. Some of the best short stories in SFF consistently come from Uncanny, and it's a treat to hear these tales performed by top-notch readers. The Thomases have such a passion for their magazine, and it clearly comes through in this podcast. Even if you don't subscribe to the magazine (which you should!!!), you rarely have the opportunity to listen to such great stories at absolutely no cost. Shine on!
