A Conversation With Jennifer Trijo
Happy Little Accidents are the best! Mim and Ellis sit down with actor, writer, and producer Jennifer Trijo for what they thought was a quick interview about Disney Princess parody 'Disenchanted' but actually turned into an hour long talk about the importance of art in society, philosophy, and Ellis' embarrassing Glee diary. We enjoyed the talk so much that we thought we'd publish the whole thing! What a way to kick off 202!

What a delight
I’ve had this podcast on my list for a few months now and finally took a long trip and had time to catch up. And I was so pleased I had kept it on my subscribe list for so long, because it was just a delight to listen to. The summaries are often just as funny and interesting as the actual feminist review. The creators clearly enjoy making the show, and that is felt by the audience, which increase the audience enjoyment.
The podcast is fresh and generally upbeat - even if they hate it- often at least a sliver of positivity is found. It was a nice break to encounter serious issues being discussed, but in a movie or musical context (I know they also discuss real life issues monthly but tbh I just listened to the movie/musical episodes so far, but I’m sure they are great too).
Definitely a fun feminist podcast. Will keep on my subscribe list. Suggest you add it too.
Just delightful
Mim and Ellis deliver a thoughtful, fun, and informative pod! Their intersectional feminist critique of popular theater and film makes you think critically about your favorites (I.e: Love Actually needs some work, Pretty Woman is more feminist than I thought..) all while being thoroughly entertaining.
yesss love it!
This podcast is AMAZING! I cannot wait for every single episode to come out! I am a huge theatre nerd and I just love love love this! I am not Australian, so I love hearing about theatre down under. I love how you guys go into so many different angles of different shows/movies. Some movies/musicals/pop culture things you guys should definitely review/look at:
1:Les Misérables (especially after the ‘fall in love after a 3 minute song’ topic you mentioned in the Hamilton episode)
2:Beetlejuice The Musical. (and maybe the movie, but the plots are slightly different)
3:Hairspray The Musical
4:Six The Musical
5:Chicago The Musical
6:The Greatest Showman
I also love your Taboo Tuesday on the whole JK Rowling incident, so very very good job on that. Thank you for making this podcast and keep doing whatever you’re doing
(P.S Both of your voices are amazing✨)
