Shannon Smith - Mythbusting
Shannon Smith, top pistol shooter and firearms instructor is back! There have been numerous requests to have Shannon back to do some mythbusting he alluded to on the last time he was a guest. We cover all the age old myths such as what is the “best” caliber, and will competition get you “killed”?! Plus, Shannon goes professor and explain how he sets up the stage design at some of his classic challenging matches. A big thanks to Shannon for coming on yet again.

AJ Zito - Practical Performance
AJ Zito is a gunsmith and practical shooter. He designs and makes custom 1911s and also competes in action shooting sports such as USPSA and IDPA. He is one of the few people I know that has actually gone to a three year gunsmithing school (something that sounds incredibly cool!) AJ currently is one of the assistant instructors with Scott “Jedi” Jedlinski from Modern Samurai Project and travels to many of the classes with him around the county.
I had a really nice talk with AJ and look forward to hearing more from him as he starts up his podcast again.

Brian McKenna - Cops Under Fire!
Brian McKenna served as a police officer and retired as a police lieutenant. Brian got the most enjoyment from teaching other officers survival tactics and eventually began writing for several police magazines and websites. His first book, “Officer Down: Lessons from the Street” was primarily for law enforcement officers. In his second book, “Cops Under Fire!” he analyzes 12 different harrowing stories and breaks them down for all readers.

Andrew Branca - Back to Discuss Recent Cases
Andrew Branca from the Law of Self Defense is back to discuss four cases: Kim Potter, Derek Chauvin, Kyle Rittenhouse and Alec Baldwin. All but the Chauvin trial had to do with firearms, but it was a monumental case with intense political pressure. I always like to have Andrew on to talk about these types of cases and get his perspective.

UPDATE: Still The Best gun related podcast year after year
I listen to A LOT of podcast and find Firearms Nation Podcast to be my favorite. Constantly delivering quality content with top level guests and not trying to push sponsored products. Aric Levy (the host) has alway ended his show with “carry your gun, get some training, look out for one another, we’re all in this together”. Never before has this been more important. Still listening and loving this podcast. The latest with JJ is another example of a great podcast with top level guest. Please keep them coming.
Thanks for the rebroadcast of North Hollywood shootout coverage. Yup, missed it the first broadcast and kept me glued to my speaker.
Nathan Gorenstein - Guns of John Browning
Excellent podcast….just excellent. Mr. Gorenstein is an outstanding source for the history of gun making….. a fascinating subject for all.
A Good Podcast For Pro and Competitor
Aril generally does a great interview. A very unique mix of guests makes for some extremely interesting interviews. My only thoughts to improve would be to be better prepared to alleviate some of the dead air time. He sometimes sounds a bit mush mouthed and reminds me of the great Roland Campos of Roland’s Food Court podcast and The Opie and Anthony XM fame. The unpredictability of when a podcast will drop is annoying as well.
