Lighting the Fire of Your Children's Faith E2: What Parents Don't Know About Teaching Faith

When Dr. Scoresby began to ask what parents do or could do to teach their children about faith, he said he got a lot of strange looks and then was told by many parents that they read scriptures, pray, and attend church with their children. This is a great answer, but then he asked them if they had specific ideas about how parents could teach it. When met with uncertainty, he discovered that there are some things parents would like to know, so if you listen to this episode, you will begin to get an idea about what we as parents may not know and should know about teaching faith. GGT2ND ,

So happy to have found this podcast!!

I was lucky enough to be enrolled in Human Development 210 at BYU in Dr Scoresby’s class. As we told our daughter how much we hoped she’d enjoy her BYU HD 210 class we said: “But our class was the best because we had Dr Scoresby…such a good teacher and such a good man!” (My husband also happened to take the class while at BYU.) This led to me searching for YouTube videos, etc. to see if I could hear some of his wise teachings and insights again. I am thrilled that I stumbled upon this podcast and will be sharing it with many friends. (As a happy side note our daughter informs us that on the first day of her HD 210 class this week the professor announced that he was standing there teaching that class because he’d sat in the same spots as those students and had been so inspired by Dr Scoresby that he wanted to become a “Dr Scoresby” and live and teach the same material and wisdom. I love that she will have a great teacher and experience in this class as well!!!) So, I just finished listening to an episode about honesty and decided I’d better try to fine tune some things in my life and hope to share those thoughts/actions with my kids. Thank you, thank you for sharing this valuable information!! Much love and gratitude to Dr Scoresby and his team for the wisdom he’s shared with SO many of us. ❤️

Useful and interesting to listen to

I love hearing Dr. Scoresby’s experience and practical wisdom in this podcast. He knows what he’s talking about because he’s seen it all. It’s nice that there’s stuff for parents, educators, and individuals. We can all benefit. I can’t wait for more.
