Love the podcast!! You two always bring interesting perspectives to movies but I love hearing your perspectives on real life subjects as well. In this episode you discussed the public’s disdain for Aaron Taylor Johnson and his wife who is 24 years older than him. Joseph said he didn’t know anything about ATJ’s life so to inform you a bit—the problem the public has with their relationship is because his wife had known him since he was a small child around 8 or 9, so him saying he started having sex at 13 is alarming considering they started dating immediately when he turned 18 *however* she casted him in Angus Thongs and a Perfect Snogging when he was 16 and had him do various shirtless scenes. Many people believe she *allegedly* groomed him and that’s the issue with their relationship. It’s not only the age difference with them but those suspicious factors as well. I also agree with Nick that people need to stop having puritan views towards sex. Puritanism and lack of sexual education leads to rebellion and children acting how they did in Euphoria. Many people claimed the show over-sexualized teens and was an unrealistic portrayal of them, but it couldn’t have been more realistic. As someone who abstained from sex as a teen, of course not every teen was/is having sex, but a lot did/are and they should be taught about it and in ATJ’s case—they should be taught about those who might be predatory. Nothing was cool about the freshman girl straight out of 8th grade sleeping with the senior 18 year old football player as a rite of passage. It was a predatory problem that took way too long to be addressed and many adults prey on kids.

Favorite Podcast

This is one of my favorite podcasts. Joseph is so honest and funny and Nick is like a human film encyclopedia. Mix of fils is broad and they don’t ignore lesser known titles, which I appreciate. Happy to not just hear about the never ending stream of Disney/Marvel titles. Love you both and thanks for brightening up my day! Check them out on Yourube and Patreon for even more awesome content.
