An enjoyable listen

These ladies definitely know their period dress, and overall, the podcast is quite enjoyable for those who are attracted by historical films but maybe don't know the ins and outs of the fabrics and fashions of the times. It made me want to go back and watch the films again to try and catch some of the details they pointed out. And for a film I had already decided to pass up, it renewed my interest enough that I went out and rented it so that I could see for myself what they had been discussing. It would be helpful if they would occasionally explain more often what makes one style of dress different from another rather than simply calling them by their proper names (as most of us won't know the difference between English, French & Italian styles of the times, or a 16th century dress versus one from the 17th century.) The one thing that truly detracts from the experience is the tendency of the three reviewers to talk over each other at times -- making it impossible to know what any of them have just said. Fortunately they only seem to do this a couple of times in each episode.

Not exactly objective.

If they like a movie, they excuse all the historical inaccuracies. If they don’t, they rip it apart. I’d like to see a podcast that breaks things down objectively and historically instead of based on whether or not the reviewers enjoyed the film’s script or acting.

What’s with the political correctness?

We get it, you’re feminists who like to bash men from time to time. We don’t need to be reminded.
