My guest is Dr. Jeannie Constantinou. She is a lawyer, author, bible scholar, retired professor with over 40 years experience teaching, she holds five degrees in theology. And on top of all of that she is a presbytera (priest's wife). In this episode, we talk about her background, how she got into theology, how her husband supported her, the role of women in the church (can they be teachers?!), what Orthodox "phronema" is, and much more. My guest is subdeacon Daniel Kakish, a Syriac Orthodox Christian. Daniel earned his masters in history at San Diego State university and masters in theological studies at Agora University. Daniel is “the guy” when it comes to church history. In this episode, Daniel will walk us through the events that led to the first major schism in the church at the council of Chalcedon.

My guest is Fr. John Valadez, a priest at St. Timothy Orthodox Church in Lompoc, CA.

Growing up in Orange County, Fr. John was jaded by its fakeness and gravitated to punk rock as a rebellion against the system. Until he realized it wasn’t. Punk rock was a false rebellion. He didn’t know what Orthodoxy was at the time but he was in search of a radical Christianity that could satisfy his desire for truth and authenticity. A Monday night bible study at a tattoo parlor and a magazine called Death to the World changed his life. He found the last true rebellion.

In this episode, we discuss that journey, what it means to die to the world, the anti-Christ, unity among the orthodox churches, and so much more.
