From the Story to the Audience with Stacy Barton: Episode 126 Relate w/ Patrick McAndrew

    • Technology

We are joined by show writer and author, Stacy Barton, for episode 126 of Relate. In this episode, Stacy talks with us about the importance of connection between a story and audience, the value of a shared, collective experience, and how a story has the power to touch hearts. We get an inside look at her career writing shows for companies like Disney, SeaWorld, Ringling Brothers, and many others. We also learn why it's so critical to listen to your audience.

Please learn more about Stacy on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/stacy-barton-58b7997/ and on Instagram @stacybarton_showwriter. You can find her books at https://www.amazon.com/Lily-Harp-Stacy-Barton/dp/160226015X/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=stacy+barton+lily+harp&qid=1601479708&sr=8-1.

Stacy Barton loves a good story—hearing it, seeing it, shaping it, sharing it—how it comes to life with an audience. She’s been called the ‘swiss army knife’ of storytellers, at home in any collaborative setting in which story is the center. For twenty years she’s specialized in story development for themed experiences, including major projects for Disney, SeaWorld, Ringling Bros., DreamVision and others around the world. Stacy is equally at ease imagining new content, using folklore and fairytales as structural forms, or transforming films and books into compelling live experiences. She is also the award-winning author of three books of literary fiction and poetry, four children's picture books, and more than thirty short story publications.
