GateWay Second Chance: Why We Need Education & Life Skills For At-Risk Youth With Clarence Carter Feudal Future

    • Society & Culture

In this episode of the Feudal Future podcast, hosts Joel Kotkin and Marshall Toplansky interview Clarence (Nink) Carter. He and his wife, Dr. Donna Carter founded GateWay Second Chance Foundation and GateWay Boarding Academy, to provide a second chance for academically andbehaviorally-deficient adolescent boys to learn the academic, life and problem solving skills to minimize their risk of becoming ensnared in our inadequate criminal justice system. After growing up in inner-city Brooklyn and attending undergrad at Michigan State University, Nink graduated with a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard and launched a corporate career working at Xerox, General Motors, Lear-Siegler, and Square D Corporations. Afterwards, he became the principal of a non-public K-12 school and started his current organizations.Learn more about Gateway Second Chance Foundation & Gateway Boarding Academy: https://www.gatewaysecondchance.org/https://www.gatewaysecondchance.org/boardingacademy.htmlLearn more about Clarence Carter, MBA and Donna Jean Carter, PHDShow Notes: https://joelkotkin.com/feudal-future-podcastJoin the 'Beyond Feudalism' Facebook group to share your story, ask questions and connect with other citizen leaders working to restore opportunity to the middle class: https://www.facebook.com/groups/beyondfeudalismChapman University's Beyond Feudalism Report: https://www.chapman.edu/communication/_files/beyond-feudalism-web-sm.pdfTweet thoughts: @joelkotkin, @mtoplansky, #FeudalFuture #BeyondFeudalismPurchase Joel's Book 'The Coming of Neo-Feudalism': https://www.amazon.com/Coming-Neo-Feudalism-Warning-Global-Middle-ebook/dp/B07VCG8RPFSign Up For News & Alerts: http://joelkotkin.com/#subscribeThis show is presented by the Chapman Center for Demographics and Policy, which focuses on research and analysis of global, national and regional demographic trends and explores policies that might produce favorable demographic results over time.
